Frequently asked questions

What is a Wedding Officiant?

A wedding officiant is anyone who can legally officiate a marriage ceremony. In wider use, a wedding officiant often refers specifically to a non-denominational and sometimes non-religious official who carries no affiliation with a church. Couples who don’t regularly attend a religious service or church often find this sort of wedding officiant ideal because of the flexibility this approach affords. If you are having a religious ceremony, your officiant will need to be qualified in the eyes of that religious organization as well. The Officiant is responsible for completing the certificate portion of the marriage license and returning it to the proper issuing authority within the legally stipulated timeframe after solemnizing the marriage.

How do I verify your credentials?

I always carry my license and letter of good standing with my church.

What is the cost of a Wedding Officiant?

The average Officiant fee tends to be anywhere between $250-500 depending on whom you chose.
